A New Home's Pollinator Garden (Loveland)
This project was a collaboration with Cloud Landscape Design.
AFTER: Joe Pye in full bloom along with echinacea. These native plants are thriving while they support pollinators!
“As we are wrapping our Butterfly and Bee gardening project, we can’t say enough good things about John Hemmerle and his business, Our Land Organics, LLC. Professional, courteous, a friend to the earth, great communicator, knowledgeable and overall great person to work with. We will definitely be using him next year when we tackle the backyard.”
The Challenge
The family wanted to install a pollinator garden that would enhance the aesthetics of their property while supporting pollinators.
Because their new home was a new build, the clay soil around it was very compacted. They weren’t sure how to prep the soil or which plants to use to ensure a return on investment.
BEFORE: This new build was surrounded by turf grass and compacted clay soil.
The Transformation
We remedied the compacted soil by amending with compost and other organic amendments.
We installed native plants that would soften the fenceline and create a beautiful first impression with pops of color and multi-season interest. They’ll also provide food and habitat for a wide variety of important pollinators.
AFTER: Native plants add pops of color and create a welcoming, cheery aesthetic for this home’s exterior.
