Ft. Thomas Rennovation

Native Plants, a Living Wall and an Old Basketball Court Repurposed

Opportunity arose as this couple renovated their Ft. Thomas home.  The landscape had been highly disturbed through a renovation process.  Now was the time to turn their yard into what they always wanted.  Low maintenance plants, privacy and negotiating the grade change from the side to back yard were some of the goals.  The side yard was a tight area to utilize plants for privacy so a trellis was utilized to break up the view. The native vine, virginia creeper  (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) was planted at the base and will have no problem providing dense growth to create a living wall. The plan also took into consideration how to utilize a former basketball concrete pad by incorporating it into a new outdoor living space.  What’s old is made new.
