The Trosset Wildflower Sanctuary (Gorman Heritage Farm)

Entrance planting

AFTER: The new entrance planting serves as a cheery welcome for visitors. The colorful plant palette attracts an array of pollinators.

Working with John is an amazing experience. His knowledge and passion for his work made it so easy and fun. We are so happy to be able to save the wildflowers that were so well tended by the Trosset family for over 40 years. With John’s help, we’ve created an oasis that will be used for education as well as preserve a family’s legacy.

The Challenge

The Trosset family has been closely involved with Gorman Heritage Farm. For over 40 years, they been preserving and cataloguing wildflowers native to our area. Their existing wildflower preserve was at an offsite location close to Gorman, but not easily accessible to the general public.

The Transformation

The new entrance planting at Gorman Heritage Farm will educate visitors about the importance of wildflowers, their unique ephemeral beauty, and their role in our region's ecological health. It was an honor to support this project!
