Then, our team got to work on creating a professionally designed, ecological landscape:
>> We removed an old deck and installed garden beds to unify the area’s disparate elements (patio, shrubs, a massive oak stump).
>> We installed cedar raised vegetable beds (with deer protection), where the clients’ children enjoy learning about plant life cycles and eating fresh vegetables throughout the season.
>> We lined the vegetable garden with pollinator-attracting perennials and native ground covers to support vegetable production while sustaining native pollinators.
>> We created a small dry creek and installed a rain barrel to manage rainwater from multiple downspouts that were draining too close to the home. Excess water now waters the raised beds as well as the native plants framing the dry creek.
>> We laid a flagstone path and brassfield crushed stone pathways to improve flow and make the space highly functional and user-friendly.
